Quiet, small paradise for walking holidays

Graun is a picturesque small village situated on a sunny elevated plain on 800 metres above sea level south of Bozen. The town's landmark is the San George church. There you have a stunning view all over the southern valley (Unterland), from the beautiful lake of Kaltern to the bordering region (Trentino), the impressive peaks of the Dolomites in the background. Every guest should go for a small walk to the so called „Sitzkofel“, a marvellous viewpoint.

In the past the landscape surrounding Graun was different. Where today you'll find appletrees and vineyards to assure the local farmers an income, once there were wide meadows, cows and fields. The local tourist board offers you a conducted excursion throughout the wineyards of Kurtatsch. The tour starts in Graun and provides you an insight into the genesis of wine starting from the grape.
